Shock and Awe!!

When we first started planning for our next mission my dear Boppo stated that he really wanted to go back to where he served his first mission. During the years we have been married we have visited that country on two different occasions. both times I spent the week pulling on Boppo's sleeve saying: "What did he say". What did she say"... all the while Boppo goes on with his conversation. When he stated that he emphatically wanted to go back there I told him I would rather go to a country where we could both have a new experience together. He was so insistent that I finally said: "Should we get called to go back there, I won't go!" Now on the other hand: Steven stated that he would do just about any assignment that we were given but that he really would not like doing an assignment serving in the mission office. He likes to get out and go and do. This is the area where I excel because I like the tedious, meticulous, get things checked off your list jobs. This is what I would love to do. You also get the opportunity to really get to know the missionaries and we do love those wonderful young missionaries. Shock and Awe!!! I guess!!! The picture is taken at the exact moment that we both saw the location to which we were going to be sent and Yep!! We are going back to Helsinki Finland. AND Yep... we are going to serve in the mission office. It seems to me we are even. I get what I want and Boppo gets what he wants. This must be a lesson in obedience. You state that you would rather NOT do something but at the same time you are telling the Lord you are willing to go and serve. Are we willing to go and serve only where and how we want? We said we would go and serve and now....?? This is where the obedience comes in. Now everything has somewhat settled in we are both excited and anxious to get on our way. There is nothing better than serving out in the nations of the world.
